# (some of) My story

### The beginning&#x20;

I grew up in what is called the 'Pink city' of India —Jaipur. Indian education system places a very high value on the Sciences, so without revolting my dear parents' decision, I went ahead and studied Information Technology like the other half a billion Indians :rofl: . \
\
I grew up in the North of India but spent most of my formative adult years (18-22) in Southern India where I went to uni and had my first job as a Software Engineer :woman\_technologist: at IBM. I didn't take a liking to writing SQL scripts so I started writing for our products instead. This was my first attempt at bringing writing and technology together :nerd:. <br>

### The middle

Come 23, wanderlust took over and I found myself trying to make a life in Vietnam :flag\_vn:. I worked as a Language and Educational Technology trainer at the British Council and had some of the best years of my life — a fulfilling career, frequent travel and great friends :beach: \
\
In 2017, after spending a brief and a very hot summer in Muscat, Oman :flag\_om: as a language trainer at the British Council, I arrived on the Emerald Isle — Dublin, Ireland. :flag\_ci: . It was time to flex my learning muscles again and I graduated :woman\_student: first class from Trinity College Dublin in Interactive Digital Media. On the course I got my hands dirty with a variety of digital media creation - image, audio, video, VR, immersive web apps, e-learning, product design, and more! <br>

### The present

I have since called Dublin my home. In 2018, I worked at KPMG as a Technology Consultant and writer, helping companies claim biiiiiiiiig money :heavy\_dollar\_sign: for their Research and Development :woman\_scientist: work in Computer Science :bulb:. I worked as the Lead Technical Writer at Travelport where I crafted words for products that are used to buy and sell travel by millions around the world :airplane: . I now work as a Senior Technical Content Designer at Guidewire. I seamlessly shift between front-end, APIs, DevOps and whatever other technologies :woman\_technologist: I need to learn to lead and participate in technical curriculum development projects. \
\
Although I have fully embraced the Irish culture, I still complaint a lot when it rains non stop for 3 days. My goals this year are to get better at the piano and to write a book about the best pubs, restaurants, and cafes in each district of Dublin. Outside of work I love music, comedy, musical comedy, cooking, languages, cycling, and traveling.&#x20;
